This cue is from when Eurydice falls from the apartment to the Underworld. This was created from layering a lot of assorted sounds. Some of the included sounds might seem to be from a more comedic fall, but they are altered to seem darker.
This is from Orpheus entering the Underworld bringing his music and life. I took a recording of an orchestra tuning and layered birdsong on it.
This cue played underneath a storm and occurs as Orpheus searches the rain for the music. I took raindrops and tuned them to be the frequency of the notes and layered a harp playing that note. The sequence of notes is the C major scale.

I served as the sound designer, sound board operator, and head electrician for this production. We wanted to create an immersive soundscape for the audience. I brought in 7 additional speakers beyond the installed House system to accomplish this. There were a pair on the apron on SL/SR and a pair mid-House on each side. I put another on the catwalk in the rear of the House, angle to reflect off the back wall into the audience. The final two were placed in the trapdoor and above the grid. The speaker in the trap was used for some SFX in the Underworld; the placement accented low frequencies. The train SFX was one other those patched through this speaker. The speaker above the grid was used for the apartment scene before Eurydice falls to the Underworld. The surrounding speakers worked well. One of the more notable uses of them was a sequence while Eurydice is with her father in the Underworld, and Orpheus is working on his music. Orpheus was conducting and as he gestured toward different areas of the House, that speaker would have his music fade up.
