This cue breaks the total of show revelry with the news that their show has flopped. The Broadway actors have been celebrating, and this prompts their followers to depart the revelries.
This cue introduces the scene as the Broadway stars try to woo an audience of a monster truck show. They are very out of place, and I created the effect to have the trucks starting around them, so different trucks are panned different directions.
This cue is the recording of “Unruly Heart” that Alyssa listens to before being interrupted by her mother. It was recorded in the rehearsal hall with costume racks surrounding to muffle the reflections.

I served as the sound designer and sound board operator for this production. While the pit was mic’ed, very little of that made it into the main mix since they were abundantly loud. I talked with the conductor a few times to try to balance things out more which made some improvements. The pit signal did go into their own mixes as well as into the on stage monitors. We used an over the ear rig for all but one of the actors’ microphones. Alyssa’s mic went through her hair.
